Jackson Wixom Gannaway

We are so happy to welcome our little Jackson to our family! On Friday, October 21st, I had a non-stress test at the hospital because my amnio fluids were low. When they tested my fluids on Friday, the fluids were a lot lower than normal. So the tech called my doctor and my doctor wanted me to be induced that day. Then the tech said she'd take me over to Labor and Delivery to check-in. In my mind, I was wondering why she wanted me to check in now, then I found out that I couldn't leave the hospital and that I was going to be induced THEN! I kind of started to panic because Grant was in class and I had the car, I didn't have my hospital bag, etc. I then called Grant and he ran down from campus to the hospital, then he went home to get our bag, and by the time he got back, they were just about to induce me. Whew!
The first couple of hours I didn't progress much, and after a few hours I got an epidural (thank heavens for epidurals!), then after the second round of epidural (and after 5 hours of slow progression), I went from 4.5 centimeters to 10 centimeters in an hour. Jackson Wixom Gannaway was born at 10:46pm, weighing 6 lbs 4 ounces, 18 inches long. Everything went smoothly, and both mom and baby are healthy!
We are enjoying every minute with our little guy. We feel so blessed to have him in our family, and love him so so so much!
